<p>State financial aid for college will soon be available to undocumented residents of California. In groundbreaking and controversial legislation, Gov. Jerry Brown signed AB131, the second half of the California Dream Act, on Friday, October 8, 2011. Under the new law, state funds will begin to be available January 1, 2013.</p>

The new system is designed so that most students will get to keep the same counselor for 9th and 10th grades and then switch to a second counselor who will follow them through 11th and 12th grades. We hope this setup provides a nice combination of consistency and expertise in the school counseling professional who will help guide you through high school and toward your college and career dreams.</p>
